Job summary

Ferrovial Construction UK is seeking a site-based Senior Environmental & Sustainability Advisor for the Heathrow project. You will support the Environmental & Sustainability Manager and the construction team to ensure effective environmental controls and carbon reduction opportunities are integrated into project delivery.

You will monitor compliance, coordinate with design teams, and mentor junior staff while promoting Ferrovial’s sustainability commitments across the site.

Qualifications

• Experience in environmental and sustainability roles within construction or major projects.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to mentor junior team members and collaborate across teams.
• Good commercial awareness and understanding of industry regulations.

Responsibilities

• Support Environmental & Sustainability Manager and Construction Team to implement environmental requirements on site.
• Monitor environmental performance and ensure compliance with standards and permits.
• Develop and deliver environmental briefings and awareness initiatives on site.
• Collaborate with design and project teams to explore carbon reduction opportunities.
• Assist with environmental incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Prepare environmental performance reports for senior stakeholders.
• Support monitoring systems and tools (SmartWaste and internal platforms).
• Provide guidance to graduates and early career professionals on best practices.
