Job summary

Laing O'Rourke in Ipswich/Suffolk is seeking a Survey Manager to lead surveying across major civil works for Sizewell C, delivering accurate spatial data to underpin project delivery.

You'll manage a team of surveyors, coordinate with engineering and construction teams, apply GPS/GNSS, UAV, and laser scanning, and implement QA/QC processes while promoting continuous improvement in a hybrid working environment.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in a Survey Manager or Senior Surveying role on major civil projects.
• Strong knowledge of surveying principles, control networks and geospatial data.
• Experience with GPS/GNSS, Total Stations, laser scanning and UAV surveying.
• Leadership and project management skills with teams of surveyors.

Responsibilities

• Lead surveying activities across allocated project work packages.
• Develop and supervise a surveying team and subcontractors.
• Create survey strategies and delivery programmes for construction.
• Establish and maintain project control networks and benchmarks.
• Review survey data and technical reports for quality and accuracy.
• Collaborate with engineering, construction and design teams.
• Oversee equipment management, calibration and digital survey tech.
• Implement QA/QC processes across surveying activities.
• Identify surveying risks and ensure regulatory and safety compliance.
• Capture lessons learned and promote best practices.
