Job summary

Randstad Enterprise is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a hybrid role in Suffolk. The successful candidate will lead cost management on building and civil engineering projects, minimise costs while maintaining quality, and mentor junior commercial staff.

The ideal applicant will be Chartered or working towards RICS/ICES/CIOB, with a track record of managing a small team and delivering value for money on complex projects.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience.
• Membership of RICS, ICES or CIOB (or working towards).

Responsibilities

• Prepare Activity Schedules, Resource Schedules and analyse tender documents.
• Critically appraise, estimate and negotiate with third parties.
• Review complex programmes such as Time-Location and assist with delay/disruption plans.
• Monitor subcontract activities and report progress to senior staff.
• Undertake constructability analyses using construction programmes.
• Prepare procurement programmes and help develop the strategy.
• Analyse rates/prices, variations and compensation events as required.
• Prepare, submit and negotiate claims; maintain commercial reports and reconciliation.
• Support recruitment of lower grades and development of others.
