Job summary

Niyaa People is recruiting on behalf of a leading organisation within the supported housing and homelessness sector for an experienced Supported Housing Manager to join a specialist service in Coventry. You will lead a team of support and housing professionals, manage a small, complex caseload and oversee safeguarding, risk management and trauma‑informed practice.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading a team within supported housing, homelessness, or similar environment.
• Extensive experience working with homelessness and multiple disadvantage.
• Strong knowledge of accommodation-based services and intensive housing management.
• Experience with rent management, Housing Benefit, Universal Credit and tenancy sustainment.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and experience managing complex risks.
• Experience developing and quality assuring support plans and risk assessments.
• Strong understanding of trauma-informed and strengths-based approaches.
• Experience working with individuals affected by mental health, substance misuse and other complex needs.
• Confidence working collaboratively with statutory and voluntary-sector partners.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and report-writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Leading, motivating and developing a team of support and housing professionals.
• Providing regular supervision, 1:1s, appraisals, objective setting and reflective practice.
• Maintaining a positive culture focused on high performance, inclusion and continuous improvement.
• Supporting staff to work effectively with people experiencing multiple disadvantage, including homelessness, mental health needs, substance misuse and offending histories.
• Managing a small and complex caseload alongside your management responsibilities.
• Providing oversight of safeguarding, risk management and multi-agency casework.
• Championing strength-based and trauma-informed approaches across the service.
• Quality assuring support plans, risk assessments, case notes and resident engagement.
• Overseeing intensive housing management, tenancy sustainment and rent management.
• Supporting the team with Housing Benefit, Universal Credit, welfare benefits and rent arrears.
• Ensuring accommodation inspections, property compliance, health and safety and housing management requirements are maintained.
• Monitoring service KPIs, contract performance and operational outcomes.
• Building effective relationships with local authorities, commissioners, housing teams, Police, Probation, health services, DWP and voluntary-sector partners.
• Participating in an out-of-hours Managers on Call rota.
• Contributing to the development and growth of the service and wider organisation.

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading organisation within the supported housing and homelessness sector for an experienced Supported Housing Manager to join a specialist service in Coventry.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing service supporting individuals experiencing homelessness, multiple disadvantage and complex needs, helping residents move towards greater independence, stability and positive long-term outcomes.

The successful candidate will be an experienced supported housing professional who is confident leading a team while remaining hands-on with a small, complex caseload.

Your responsibilities as a Supported Housing Manager will include:

About you:

We are looking for an experienced supported housing professional who combines strong leadership skills with genuine passion for helping people overcome barriers and achieve greater independence.

You will ideally have:

• Proven experience managing or leading a team within supported housing, homelessness, supported living or a similar environment.
• Extensive experience working with people experiencing homelessness and multiple disadvantage.
• Strong knowledge of accommodation-based services and intensive housing management.
• Experience with rent management, Housing Benefit, Universal Credit and tenancy sustainment.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and experience managing complex risks.
• Experience developing and quality assuring support plans and risk assessments.
• A strong understanding of trauma-informed and strengths-based approaches.
• Experience working with individuals affected by mental health, substance misuse and other complex needs.

• Strong IT and case-management system experience, with excellent attention to detail.
