Job summary

Niyaa People Ltd is assisting a growing supported housing organisation in Wiltshire to recruit an experienced Supported Housing Manager to lead the day-to-day management of a 44-unit scheme and oversee on-site staff.

You will provide leadership, ensure safeguarding and tenancy management, liaise with authorities, and contribute to service expansion as demand grows.

Qualifications

  • Experience managing a supported housing, supported accommodation or housing service.
  • Experience supervising a small multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong understanding of supported housing and intensive housing management.
  • Knowledge of Housing Benefit, Universal Credit and the wider benefits system.
  • Experience managing housing administration, tenancy processes and compliance.
  • Understanding tenancy sustainment, safeguarding, risk management and resident welfare.
  • Experience working within a housing association, local authority, homelessness service or supported housing provider.
  • Strong leadership, organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Confident managing staff, residents and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to take ownership of the day-to-day running of a housing service.
  • Empathetic, resilient and professional, with the ability to manage challenging situations.
  • Experience supporting veterans or ex-military personnel would be advantageous.
  • A proactive approach with the ability to help develop and grow the service.

Responsibilities

  • Take overall day-to-day responsibility for the 44-unit supported housing scheme.
  • Manage and support the on-site team, including Housing Support Workers, administration staff and a caretaker.
  • Provide effective leadership, guidance and supervision to the team.
  • Oversee the delivery of supported housing and intensive housing management.
  • Ensure effective processes are in place for resident sign-ups, move-ins, welfare checks, risk assessments and tenancy management.
  • Oversee housing administration, records, compliance and case management.
  • Ensure residents receive appropriate support with Housing Benefit, Universal Credit and wider welfare matters.
  • Monitor rent, tenancy and housing management issues and ensure these are dealt with appropriately.
  • Ensure the service operates in line with safeguarding, health and safety, compliance and organisational procedures.
  • Liaise with local authorities, housing teams, benefits departments and external agencies.
  • Develop and improve systems and processes across the supported housing service.
  • Identify opportunities to improve service delivery and contribute to the organisation's expansion plans.
  • Maintain high standards across the scheme and ensure issues are identified and resolved promptly.

We are recruiting on behalf of agrowing supported housing organisation in Wiltshirethat provides accommodation and support toex-military veterans, helping to reduce homelessness and support residents as they transition back into civilian life.

The organisation currently operates a44-unit supported housing schemeand has ambitious plans to expand its services. They are now looking for an experiencedSupported Housing Managerto take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the scheme and lead the on-site team.
