Job summary

Radis Community Care seeks an experienced Support Worker for a temporary maternity cover at our Supported Living schemes in Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent. You will support individuals with PMLD and mild learning disabilities, promoting independence, dignity and respect in a person-centred service.

Experience in health and social care is helpful, but not essential; training and career progression are provided. Pay rates are listed, with full and part-time hours available and mileage/PPE provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in care or support roles is valued.
• Qualif ications in health and social care are beneficial but not essential.
• Experience with PMLD or learning disabilities is welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals with PMLD and learning disabilities in daily living activities.
• Assist with personal care, meal preparation and household tasks.
• Support community access, appointments and socialisation.
• Assist with medication administration as required and within training.

About the role

As a Support Worker you will be supporting individuals with PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities) and Mild Learning disabilities. The role may include manual handling, medication administration, personal care, food preparation, household tasks, supporting individuals to keep in contact with family and friends, accessing the community and attending appointments. We provide support for daily living skills and help support with socialisation.

We recognise each person as an individual and provide a unique service which is person centred and tailored to their needs. The role is to promote the individual's independence, choice, dignity and respect by delivering the best standards of support. We offer people with PMLD a safe and secure home where they can live independently with the support they need.

Ideally the successful person would have a qualification in health and social care (but this is not essential) or will have worked either in supported living settings and / or with individuals with PMLD.

Pay Rates

£13.10 weekdays, £13.40 weekend days.
