Job summary

Radis Community Care is recruiting for a Support Worker to join the Extra Care Scheme Stirchley House in Telford, delivering compassionate care to elderly residents who need assistance to maintain independence. The role emphasises privacy, dignity and personal support in daily activities.

You will be supported with training, paid shadowing, and a pension scheme, with pay rates of £13.10 per hour on weekdays and £13.40 per hour on weekends.

Responsibilities

• Support elderly individuals to maintain independence and dignity.
• Assist with personal care such as washing, grooming and dressing.
• Help with mobility to dining areas and social spaces.
• Support participation in recreational and social activities.
• Provide a kind, patient and respectful approach daily.

About the role

As a Support Worker in our Extra Care Scheme you will be supporting the elderly who are finding it difficult to cope due to physical frailty, enabling them to maintain their individuality and vital independence. You'll help the people we support - who can often have have restricted mobility - to move to dining areas at meal times, communal areas for social activities and to the privacy of their bedrooms and bathrooms at their request.

You'll help them with personal care activities such as washing, personal hygiene and dressing - this will mean you'll understand the importance of privacy and dignity - so important to everyone. You will have the opportunity to take part in physical and mental stimulation by being a part of the recreational and social activities with the people we support, and as a group.

And always with a kind smile and a supportive word, even when sometimes a day is challenging!

Weekdays £13.10 per hour
