Radis Community Care invites applications for a Support Worker at the Extra Care Scheme Stirchley House in Telford. You will support elderly residents facing frailty to maintain dignity, independence, and daily routines within a secure, compassionate environment.

Role involves assisting with mobility, personal care, and participation in social activities, with a focus on privacy and respect. Full-time hours and ongoing training are provided to new starters.

Qualifications

• Experience in care/support work preferred.
• Ability to show kindness, compassion and respect.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Support elderly residents in Extra Care Scheme to maintain independence and mobility.
• Assist with personal care including washing, hygiene and dressing with dignity.
• Support participation in social activities and recreational programs.

About the role

As a Support Worker in our Extra Care Scheme you will be supporting the elderly who are finding it difficult to cope due to physical frailty, enabling them to maintain their individuality and vital independence. You’ll help the people we support - who can often have have restricted mobility - to move to dining areas at meal times, communal areas for social activities and to the privacy of their bedrooms and bathrooms at their request.

You’ll help them with personal care activities such as washing, personal hygiene and dressing – this will mean you’ll understand the importance of privacy and dignity – so important to everyone. You will have the opportunity to take part in physical and mental stimulation by being a part of the recreational and social activities with the people we support, and as a group.

And always with a kind smile and a supportive word, even when sometimes a day is challenging!

Pay Rates -

Weekdays £13.10 per hour
