Job summary

Radis Community Care is seeking an experienced Support Worker to join our team at our Supported Living schemes in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent. You will help individuals with PMLD and learning disabilities to maintain independence, dignity and daily living skills with compassionate, person-centred care.

The role may involve manual handling, personal care, medication administration and community engagement. Full and part-time hours are available, with comprehensive training and progression

Qualifications

• Ideally a health and social care qualification or experience in supported living with PMLD.

Responsibilities

About the role

As a Support Worker you will be supporting individuals with PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities) and Mild Learning disabilities. The role may include manual handling, medication administration, personal care, food preparation, household tasks, supporting individuals to keep in contact with family and friends, accessing the community and attending appointments. We provide support for daily living skills and help support with socialisation.

We recognise each person as an individual and provide a unique service which is person centred and tailored to their needs. The role is to promote the individual's independence, choice, dignity and respect by delivering the best standards of support. We offer people with PMLD a safe and secure home where they can live independently with the support they need.

Ideally the successful person would have a qualification in health and social care (but this is not essential) or will have worked either in supported living settings and / or with individuals with PMLD.

Pay Rates

£13.10 weekdays, £13.40 weekend days.
