Job summary

Active Care Group is recruiting for an experienced Support Worker/Childcare Worker at Applewood Lodge, Stafford. The role involves supporting children up to 18 with complex needs, delivering daily living support and activities while ensuring safety and high-quality care.

Driving licence is essential due to rural location and shift pattern. You will work full time or part time on days or nights, with a rota including weekends and training opportunities to progress within our Residential Child

• NVQ Level 3 in residential Childcare gained or in progress.
• Residency in the UK for at least 3 years.
• Minimum 9 months' experience in childcare, with mental health/trauma experience preferred.
• Disability Confident commitment and inclusive interview access.

Responsibilities

• Engage and connect with children and young people, building rapport.
• Provide essential support with daily living tasks, meals and personal care.
• Ensure safety and continuity by reporting issues to the on-shift Team Leader.
• Maintain accurate records of all activities and care supplied.

We have an amazing opportunity for an experiencced Support worker / Childcare worker to join our childcare service at Applewood Lodge, Stafford.

Please note we are NOT able to offer sponsorship for this role and therefore will not be able to progress any candidates who require a certificate of sponsorship to work in the UK.

Applewood Lodge is our new specialist residential service for children up to the age of 18 years old with complex care needs. The children we support will be trauma-informed and have mental health.

Salary: £27,766.15 (FTE) Per annum (Pro rata) Hours: 37.5hrs per week Location: Applewood Lodge, Ivetsey Road, Wheaton Aston, Stafford, ST19 9QW

What you'll be working:

Full Time & Part time/Days & Nights to choose from You need to be aged 21 years and above Driving licence and ability to drive is essential. Full time or Part time - Days or Nights to choose from! (Full time - 37.5hrs per week) Involving shift work and alternate weekends, requiring flexibility to ensure the home operates smoothly and safely. Working arrangements will be discussed further during the interview process.

What you'll be doing:

Engage & Connect: Actively build rapport and establish effective communication methods with children and young people, overcoming any communication barriers.

Provide Essential Support: Assist with daily living tasks, including mealtimes and personal care, as needed, and support with all activities and hobbies.

Ensure Safety & Continuity: Communicate any emerging issues promptly to the on-shift Team Leader or management.

Maintain Accurate Records: Accurately document and report on all work activities.

What you'll have:

Aged 21 years and over

Driving licence and ability to drive is required due to rural location settings

Qualifications:

NVQ Level 3 in residential Childcare gained or in progress

Residency Requirement:

Must have resided in the UK for a minimum of 3 years.

Effective Communicator:

Relevant Experience:

A minimum of 9 months' experience in childcare, with specific experience working within the childcare sector, particularly with mental health and/or Trauma
