We will help support you to reach your full potential by providing you with all the necessary training, guidance and support you need to complete your care certificate and further qualifications.
You must have a big smile that will make each person's face light up when they welcome you at the door. As each day is varied, you’ll need to think on your feet; having a good pair of eyes and ears is essential. Ears to listen to a lifetime's worth of stories, and eyes to open new opportunities in their lives.
You will be supporting 9 people of various ages to enjoy the things they love most. Whether that's getting up early for a swim or gym session, visiting the farm to see their favourite animals, or exploring museums or trying their luck at bowling – each day is different!
You may become a main supporter for one of the gentlemen who, with your support, lives his best life – the life he chooses to live! This gentleman would love you to be positive, interactive and engaging. A good sense of humour and understanding jokes is a must, as he enjoys joking around. He spends his days going on trips to the seaside, having coffee at his favourite coffee shop. His other interests include gardening, cooking, watching movies, and listening to his favourite music artists like Bob Marley, Moor 5, or Coldplay, just to name a few!
Prior experience and knowledge of how to support people with disabilities are preferred.
We don’t wear uniforms (it's friendlier that way), but you must be prepared to roll up your sleeves to cook in the kitchen, support with shopping, housework including cleaning, medication, laundry, and personal care.
"Gender is considered to be a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with paragraph 1 of Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010."
Dimensions is proud to be one of the very few social care organisations that are accredited by the Great Places To Work programme 2023 – five years in a row!
Applications will be shortlisted on receipt, and interviews will be held until posts are filled.
