You will act as a young person’s advocate and guide, helping them navigate the housing market, complete referral forms, coordinate referrals, or attend referral interviews. You might mediate between young people and their families to facilitate moves back home. You will need to be motivated, resilient, patient, and kind, encouraging young people through change.
Using your knowledge of welfare benefits, you will assist young people in accessing grants and charitable funding for essentials. You will also coordinate activities related to their move, such as arranging pre-move meetings, property inspections, liaising with landlords, and developing a system to match young people for house shares.
