Job description

A job opportunity has arisen for an experienced HCA to work within LNWH Integrated Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare and HIV Services.

This is a great opportunity to contribute to the delivery of safe and effective HIV and Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare to people in the communities of Hillingdon and Harrow, while enhancing clinical skills within this area of practice.

Responsibilities:
  1. Act as a chaperone and provide assistance for clinical procedures, including male and female examinations, maintaining the patient’s privacy and dignity at all times.
  2. Undertake venipuncture in support of clinicians managing blood samples.
  3. Ensure all samples/specimens are recorded and prepared for transportation in a timely manner as per local policies/procedures, reporting any discrepancies to an appropriate team.
  4. Undertake baseline observations, including blood pressure, weight, height, and calculate BMI.
  5. Monitor and maintain clinical stock levels, reporting discrepancies to the relevant line manager.
  6. Participate in the preparation and clearing of clinical areas, maintaining infection prevention and control standards.
  7. Maintain confidentiality at all times in accordance with LNWH trust policy.
  8. Be flexible and work within any of the LNWH integrated sexual and reproductive healthcare and HIV services. Remain until the last client has been seen and the clinic is clean.
  9. Adhere to all LNWH trust policies and procedures, seeking support from the multidisciplinary team when needed, and work within individual professional boundaries.
  10. Participate in specific training to undertake the role and support the delivery of sexual and reproductive healthcare.
  11. Participate in clinical governance, quality assurance, appraisal, and audit activities. Attend departmental meetings.
