What makes Community Integrated Care a great place to work:
Community Integrated Care is one of the UK’s largest health and social care charities. We work hard to enrich the lives of people with many different care needs. It’s exciting and rewarding work, and we’re full of pride and passion for what we do.
Since the early days, we’ve grown to provide many innovative and bespoke care services to thousands of people across England and Scotland. We want to provide support based on the principles of choice, dignity and respect. This resonates in our vision of ‘Your Life, Your Choice’ and our strategy ‘Best Lives Possible’.
We have strong values and we’re proud to pioneer new ways of delivering social care to stand out in our sector. In the past two years, we have won or made the shortlist for over national and regional awards!
We are also focused on our people. Our Support Workers are dedicated and passionate about going ‘the extra mile’ for the people we support, and in return, we invest in pay, recognition, wellbeing, and continued professional and personal development. We will provide you with all the training, support, and personal protective equipment you need in your role and will help you develop if you decide to grow your career with us.
Are you an experienced Care Assistant or Support Worker? Do you hold a full UK driving license? We are recruiting for a Full-Time (37.5 hour) Male Support Worker to support 6 gentlemen sharing a large bungalow in a quiet estate in the Drumoyne/Govan area of Glasgow. The people we support have faced many challenges but enjoy activities like walks, catching up with friends, listening to music, aromatherapy, and keeping in touch with their families. They have a large shared garden for summer events, and they’re always up for trying new things.
The support team is diverse and works well together to ensure the people we support are happy and safe. The role can be physically demanding, and involves administering medication (full training provided). It requires communication with health professionals. Support is provided 24 hours a day, with shifts including days, weekends, and occasional nights, typically 2x14 hour and 1x9 hour shifts per week on a rota. Experience in social care or healthcare is essential, especially supporting non-verbal individuals. A female colleague is required for this role, as support sometimes necessitates a female support worker, which is a genuine occupational requirement under the Equality Act.
We value individuals with patience, empathy, compassion, a strong work ethic, reliability, honesty, determination, problem-solving skills, and resilience. We believe that not everyone needs professional experience to be a great support worker; we recruit from all walks of life and focus on shared values like inclusion, respect, and enabling people to live their best lives.
