Are you currently working in Housing Support and looking for your next move? If so, you should consider joining Quarriers as an Intensive Support Worker for our WHAT IF (Male) outreach service in Glasgow!

Your new role

Quarriers' WHAT IF (Male) Service is recruiting three full-time Intensive Support Workers to support young people in supported accommodation.

The WHAT IF (Male) team seeks qualified individuals who will embrace their therapeutic role, providing appropriate re-nurturing and healing to young people with attachment issues and fear of rejection.

As an Intensive Support Worker, you will ensure that people's needs are met by building trusting relationships with young men and helping them build self-esteem to move towards independence.

Working pattern

Quarriers offers three full-time, permanent contracts working 39 hours per week. You will work over an 8-week rolling rota, with shifts of 8am - 4pm (early shift) and 2pm - 10pm (late shift), with 4 out of 8 weekends off.

What you will need to bring to the role

• Previous experience working with young people who have experienced homelessness, substance issues, or emotional/mental health difficulties.
• Recognised Social Care Qualification SVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• A valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential.
• Previous experience in housing support or a similar role.
• Compassion and empathy to support and listen to individuals who have experienced childhood or young life trauma.
