Job summary

Riverside in Cambridge is seeking a dedicated Support Worker on a permanent contract. The role is 37.5 hours per week, with early and late shifts including weekends and bank holidays. The salary is £28,031.56 per annum, and the role involves helping customers access employability coaching, benefits and housing moves.

You will keep detailed records, provide empathetic, resilient support, and collaborate with teams to deliver person-centered services.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with vulnerable people.
• Experience of delivering structured support and risk management.
• Be a team player with a caring and empathetic nature with a resilient, can-do attitude.
• An understanding of supporting vulnerable people – could include having your own lived experience of homelessness or drug or alcohol addiction.
• Ability to work flexible hours to meet customer and business needs, which may include lone working.

Responsibilities

• Lead on co-producing bespoke support and move-on plans with key stakeholders.
• Organise regular planned reviews of support and risk plans.
• Engage customers to meet outcomes and develop life skills.
• Assist customers with day-to-day support and tenancy-related matters.
• Identify opportunities for employment, education and training and support customers to remove barriers to accessing these opportunities.
• Signpost customers to external support services, including food banks and community resources.
• Support customers to be tenancy ready and financially independent through budgeting.
• Monitor healthcare needs and liaise with healthcare professionals.
• Empower customers to move toward self-management of their medication.
• Lead on group work initiatives and maintain safety per safeguarding procedures.
• Record and update clear customer information on local or digital platforms.
