Job summary

Community Integrated Care is seeking a Female Support Worker to cover maternity leave at our Sunderland-based Supported Living service for 4 adults with learning disabilities. A full UK driving licence is preferred to assist with activities and appointments. Shifts run 9am–9pm, with occasional late stays and a sleepover, totaling 30 hours per week.

We value empathy, reliability and a positive, flexible approach. DBS costs are covered, and we support ongoing development and wellbeing.

Responsibilities

  • Cover maternity leave as a female support worker.
  • Assist 4 adults with learning disabilities in activities and appointments.

Job description

Our Supported Living service for 4 adults with Learning Disabilities and other healthcare support needs is looking for a Female Support Worker to cover Maternity Leave until 19th July 2027.

For this vacancy, we ideally require applicants to hold full UK Driving License to be able to drive us to activities and appointments.

We like our staff to work mornings and evenings with a mixture of shift form 9am to 9pm , some times we may need our support workers to stay back if we are going out late to the pub , social events ,concerts , theatre etc . We also have a sleep over shift that is from 9pm - 9am next day.

This vacancy is for 30 hours per week.

A Little Bit About Us.
  • We are all different in lots of ways and have different likes and hobbies, our age range is from 33 to 34 years
  • We have a range of different mobile needs in our home, one of us needs support using a walking frame. Two of us need some physical assistance to get around when we are in the community. We have different challenges in our lives which include, autism, learning disabilities and mental health.
  • We have a strong team of support workers who are all fully trained and familiar with supporting us. Some of the training they have includes, administering medication, moving and positioning and first aid.
  • We are proud to be able to help our community and some of us have volunteer work we love to do including working in a charity shop.
  • We love a party and going to social events. We enjoy going to concerts and local discos alike.
  • We have all different interests. Though we all enjoy music and dancing, local discos and going on local walks and trips to shopping centres.
  • We are fun-loving, caring and considerate, and love helping each other around our home. We all have different jobs that we do, including washing the dishes, hoovering, dusting and other household tasks.
  • We like our staff team to be cheerful and chatty. We would not like someone loud and bossy, this would tend to make some of us upset.
  • There are always at least 2/3 colleagues on shift.
  • We like our staff to work mornings and evenings with a mixture of shifts from 9 am to 9 pm, sometimes we may need our support workers to stay back if we are going out late to the pub, social events, concerts, theatre shows etc. We also have a sleepover that is from 9 pm - 9 am the next day
