Our charity was founded in 1988 and we were one of the pioneers of the ‘Care in the Community’ agenda, enabling people to move out of long-stay institutions and live more fulfilling lives.

We have ages from 31 all the way to 71 so have lots of life experience, routines and habits we do .

We have some communication difficulties which sometimes leads us to become anxious if you cannot help us with what our needs are, or you miss our small gestures of communication which could be a small physical cue not verbal.

Staff are trained and coached in mandatory care skills such as first aid. And are buddies up to with experienced staff to ensure they get to know our little cues and ways of speaking and nonverbal communcation as well as routines and wishes.

To have our personalised home how we like it , and have a team who like to get the best for us.

We love coffee and cake and people watching in the café/ coffee shop. We love to walk along or quiet lane to see the horses and pick wild flowers. We love to buy sweets,, pop and magazines from our local shop where the staff know us by name. We love a good pamper session laide having a massage looking at some lights beats being out in the snow .Sometimes uneven surfaces/ stairs scare us so avoid these please. And you just cant beat takeaway , Netflix and sweets on a Saturday night. Not forgetting the Sunday where w e love our Yorkshire pudding or 3 before napping on our sofa.

Our shifts vary . we have a 7am start till 9pm, 8am -10pm 4 pm-10 pm and 1:1 hours to suit us. Varied form 9am until 9pm and anything in between. night shift - we have 2 waking nightshift from 10pm-8 and and 1 stays until 9am . we need staff to be able to work around these shift patterns as we need full flexibility in our needs and wishes .

Must hold a full UK drivers license

We know it takes a special person to work in social care and we recognise that not everyone that would be perfect for the role, will have professional experience.
