Job summary

Confidential is seeking a Support Worker for complex needs in Newcastle. The role is permanent and paid at £14.50 per hour, with expected weekly hours. You will join a supportive team delivering person-centred care to individuals with challenging behaviours, following care plans and safeguarding guidelines.

Applicants should have UK care experience and be able to work within 3:1/4:1/5:1 staffing models. PMVA training or equivalent is advantageous, and sponsorship is not available.

• Prioritise least restrictive practice, with physical intervention used only as a last resort within authorised arrangements and current training.

RTC Resources is recruiting experienced Support Workers on behalf of a specialist care provider in Newcastle.

This role involves supporting individuals with complex needs and behaviours that challenge. You will work within a coordinated team, which may include 3:1, 4:1 or 5:1 staffing, helping people feel safe, build positive relationships and participate in everyday life.

Responsibilities

What we re looking for

• Previous UK experience supporting people with complex needs and behaviours that challenge.
• Experience of 3:1, 4:1 or 5:1 support, or comparable services supporting people with intensive needs.
• Practical experience managing behavioural escalation and physical aggression.
• Strong communication, teamwork and de-escalation skills.
• An understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries.

DMI/Dynamis training is highly desirable. Current or recent PMVA or other recognised physical intervention training may be considered, subject to review and completion of required training and competency assessments.
