Job summary

Thera Trust in Dalkeith is seeking compassionate support workers to assist adults with learning disabilities. You will provide day-to-day support in homes and in the community, using person-centred approaches to help individuals achieve personal goals.

No formal qualifications required; full training is provided. Weekend and shift flexibility is needed. A UK driving licence is preferred but not essential.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; full training provided.
• Compassionate, caring and confident.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexible to work weekends, early and late shifts and sleepovers when required.

Responsibilities

• Support adults with a learning disability in daily activities.
• Provide personal and emotional support and help plan and manage home.
• Support in community activities and travel.
• Use a person-centred approach to empower individuals to meet goals.
