Job summary

Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Support Worker for our Children’s Services team at Roston. The role focuses on providing warm, home-like short break care to children and young people with learning disabilities and complex health needs.

You will join a small, welcoming home and contribute to safeguarding, training and development while supporting families and coordinating with partners across Cornwall.

Qualifications

• NVQ 3 in Child Care or Level 3 Diploma in Residential social care or equivalent.
• Experience of caring for children with health needs or learning disabilities.
• Evidence of continued training and professional development.
• Experience of working in a residential home or short break provision.
• Training to Level 3 in Safeguarding Children and Young People: roles and competencies for Health Care staff.

Responsibilities

• Be part of a team delivering Short Break Services to children and young people with high health needs and learning disabilities.
• Work in partnership with the child, family and other professionals to provide a warm, safe environment that meets emotional, physical, cultural and spiritual needs.
• Assist across duty stakeholder roles, ensuring compliance with safeguarding and care standards.
