Job summary

Walsingham Support is seeking compassionate Support Workers to help adults with learning disabilities live life their way. You’ll provide person-centred support on a 1:1 basis, with 2:1 in the community, and you’ll help with daily living and meaningful activities.

Full training will be provided, including PBM if you don’t already have it, and a full UK manual driving licence is essential. Join a team that values people before profit and makes a real difference in the lives of those we support.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

Full time contract - 37.5 hours per week
A Full UK Manual driving licence is Essential for this role.

We support four adult men with autism and associated learning disabilities, who may at times display behaviours that challenge.

  • Individuals are supported on a 1:1 basis, with additional 2:1 support for one individual when accessing the community.
  • We are looking for compassionate, patient and confident Support Workers who can build positive relationships and provide person-centred support.
  • Previous experience of Positive Behaviour Management (PBM) or supporting people with behaviours that challenge is desirable.
  • If you do not have previous PBM experience, full training will be provided, and you will need to be willing to attend and complete PBM training.
  • You will play an important role in helping the people we support develop their independence, build confidence and enjoy meaningful experiences within their home and community.

1 - Experience of working with Autism.

2 - Experience and understanding of PBM

3 - A general understanding that each of those we support is an individual and that their care reflects their individuality.

Shift are a mixture of earlies and lates

7.00 - 14.30 or 14.30 - 22.00

Wakeful - 22.00 - 7.00.

sleep in shift is in addition to the wakeful each night - 22.00 - 07.00

NB: This role is not eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship under current UK Home Office rules, as it does not meet the required salary or skill level criteria.
