Hightown is recruiting a Homelessness Support Worker to join our dedicated homelessness team at Hatfield Road, St Albans. The role supports adults with complex needs, helping them regain stability and move toward independent housing on a part-time basis (32.5 hours per week).
You will work mainly at Hatfield Road (5 beds) with occasional duties at Martin House (16 beds). A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are required.

Salary: £23,271 per annum

Based Mainly At Hatfield Road (5 Beds), You Will Take Responsibility For The Day-to-day Running Of The Service, Offering Practical And Emotional Support That Helps Residents Feel Respected, Included And Empowered.
You are resilient, proactive and calm under pressure, with strong communication skills and the ability to engage people from diverse backgrounds. You are organised, IT-confident, and committed to compassionate, person-centred support. Experience is helpful but not essential - strong life experience and the right attitude matter most.
Flexibility is essential, as you will work a 3-week rolling rota that includes evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is required (business insurance needed if appointed).
The successful candidate must always maintain appropriate professional boundaries and understand their responsibilities in relation to positions of trust.
All appointments are subject to satisfactory right to work, enhanced DBS, reference and medical clearances.
