Walsingham Support is hiring a Support Worker in Shrewsbury to help adults with learning disabilities live life their way. You will join a friendly team in our charity with values focused on people first.

No prior care experience is required; full training is provided. You’ll perform personal care, help with daily tasks, and participate in activities, outings, and community events, with supportive supervision. A rewarding path awaits.

About the Role and Rota:

2 positions available full time and part time

We are recruiting for our registered respite service in Shrewsbury. The service can accommodate four regular respite stays as well as an emergency respite room if needed. There are currently 42 people on our books.

We are looking for staff to work a mixture of day and night shifts within an established and friendly team. Sleep in shifts are also available paid at £55 per night.

Support Workers need to be adaptable and enjoy working with a wide range of people with different needs and abilities.

We focus on applying a person centred approach, and welcome creative people who can encourage people we support to achieve small goals towards independence as well as providing an enjoyable stay with lots of activities.

Support workers are required to complete an element of administration tasks including recording daily logs and contribute to updating support plans.

We have a well established and supportive team who work together to ensure people have an enjoyable time when they stay.

This service is ideal for anyone who likes variety in their role as there are a variety of different people we support accessing the service

Sleep ins are paid at £55 per night. We have one sleep in and one wake staff each night.

24 hours per week and it will be a mixture of days, nights and sleeps. The candidate will be required to work their fair share of weekend shifts.
