Job summary

Home Group is seeking a compassionate care supporter to help young people aged 16-25 live independently. You will build real connections, guide daily choices, and support budgeting, tenancy maintenance and personal development.

You will enable successful pathways to housing, employment, and confidence while upholding safety and wellbeing. DBS checked and Ofsted-regulated service experience are valued. Join our great place to work.

Qualifications

  • Experience of caring for others, professionally or personally.
  • Ability to work on your own initiative, staying calm and positive under pressure.
  • Recognise every customer is different and adopt a flexible, personal approach, listening to understand their needs.
  • A Level 2 diploma in Care or equivalent experience (or willing to study towards it).

Responsibilities

  • Supporting customers with daily tasks and building real connections with young people.
  • Encouraging and empowering young people to achieve goals (housing, employment, confidence).
  • Carrying out risk assessments, support planning, goal setting and reviews.
  • Assisting with budgeting, tenancy maintenance and moving to independent accommodation.
  • Supporting young people aged 16-25 facing homelessness, mental health challenges or substance use, developing life skills.

What You’ll Do
  • Supporting customers with daily tasks. Working alongside a supportive team you will take the time to build real connections with young people and guide them through life’s challenges.
  • Encouraging and empowering young people to achieve their goals, whether it’s finding stable housing, securing employment or building confidence.
  • Carrying out risk assessments, support planning, goal setting and regular reviews.
  • Helping with day to day takes such as budgeting, maintaining their tenancy and moving onto independent accommodation.
  • Supporting young people, aged 16-25, who may be facing homelessness, mental health challenges, exploitation or substance abuse, helping them to develop the skills to live independently.

The practical bits
  • Due to our service being regulated by Ofsted you must have experience supporting young people.
  • Mixture of weekday and weekend working. Shifts are 8am - 8pm on a 4 weeks rolling rota that is provided in advance for the whole year.
  • Where we’re flexible with you, we do need to meet the needs of our customers. That may mean adapting your start or finishing times on occasion.
  • Able to use technology to update support plans, complete online learning and to collaborate with colleagues.
  • You need an Enhanced with barring list (we pay)
