Cartrefi Cymru Co-operative seeks a committed Support Worker in Nefyn, Gwynedd. Qualifications

• Support individuals in making choices and setting personal goals
• Help with everyday decisions (what to wear, eat, where to live) and managing finances
• Provide practical support for paying bills, maintaining homes, and staying connected with others
• Promote well-being and meaningful daily moments through person-centred support
• Assist with arranging transport to appointments and activities

Job description

As a Support Worker in Nefyn, Gwynedd you’ll help make the everyday remarkable for the people we support.

We are dedicated to supporting those with learning disabilities to live a fulfilled and enriched life in the community, as a Support Worker, you can play a vital role in this.

Role: Support Worker

Location: Nefyn, Gwynedd

Hours: We have both part time and full time hours, please speak to us about the hours you are looking to do. Your shift pattern will include weekends and sleep-ins.

Salary: £13.59 per hour and our sleep-in shifts at £60 per night and our travel expenses is paid 55p per mile

Contract: Permanent

What you’ll be doing:

In this role, you’ll actively support individuals in making their own choices and set their own goals — whether it’s everyday decisions like what to wear, eat, or do, or something bigger such as where to live, how to manage their finances, or where to go on holiday.

As a trusted Support Worker, you'll empower people to follow through on these choices, including taking part in structured activities that build confidence and develop new skills. You’ll also offer practical support to help them meet responsibilities like paying bills, maintaining their homes, being good neighbours, and staying connected with friends and family.

Your goal is to make everyday remarkablethrough enhancing well-being and focusing on the small, meaningful moments that bring joy and purpose. By offering this kind of person-centred support every day, this truly is a fun and rewarding role for the right person.

No experiencerequired as fulltraining is provided. We’d love to hear from you if you:

• have patience and empathy
• can support a person with their intimate personal care with respect and dignity
• have strong communication and teamwork skills
• are able to speak on behalf of others as well as to a range of professional people
• have good written skills and the ability to record events with empathy and meaning
• have afull driving licence - essentialfor transporting individuals to appointments and activities
• have access to your own car and happy to use this for transporting people we support to and from activities as well as obtaining business insurance for your vehicle for which we pay 55p per mile to cover this
• being fluentin Welshis preferred so you can effectively communicate with Welsh-speaking service users and meet their cultural and linguistic needs.
