Job summary

Cartrefi Cymru Co-operative in Wales is seeking a Support Worker for Builth Wells. You will help empower people to make everyday choices and pursue personal goals, from daily routines to larger life plans.

You’ll provide practical support with finances, housing, and staying connected, while encouraging participation in meaningful activities that build confidence and new skills. Sleep-ins are part of some shifts and travel expenses are paid.

Qualifications

• No experience required; full training provided.
• Patience and empathy.
• Ability to support intimate personal care with respect and dignity.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Able to speak on behalf of others to professionals.
• Good written skills and the ability to record events with empathy and meaning.
• Full driving licence – essential for transporting individuals.
• Own car and willingness to use it; 55p per mile for business use.

As a Support Worker in Builth Wells, you’ll help make the everyday remarkable for the people we support.

Hours:

We have both part time and full time hours, please speak to us about the hours you are looking to do. Your shift pattern will include weekends and sleep-ins

Salary:

£13.59 per hour and our sleep-in shifts at £60 per night and our travel expenses is paid 55p per mile

Contract:

Permanent

What you’ll be doing:

In this role, you’ll actively support individuals in making their own choices and set their own goals — whether it’s everyday decisions like what to wear, eat, or do, or something bigger such as where to live, how to manage their finances, or where to go on holiday.

As a trusted Support Worker, you'll empower people to follow through on these choices, including taking part in structured activities that build confidence and develop new skills. You’ll also offer practical support to help them meet responsibilities like paying bills, maintaining their homes, being good neighbours, and staying connected with friends and family.

Your goal is to makeeveryday remarkablethrough enhancing well-being and focusing on the small, meaningful moments that bring joy and purpose.
