Job summary

Priority Recruitment is seeking an experienced Complex Support Worker to join a home-based care package in the Heybridge area. The role involves supporting a young boy with complex physical conditions, including epilepsy and cerebral palsy, with daily routines, appointments, and social activities.

The role covers days and waking nights, requires a valid UK driving licence (manual or automatic), and offers a rich development programme with training and online courses.

Qualifications

• Experience with adults with complex conditions such as brain injury, cerebral palsy or epilepsy.
• Willingness to undertake PEG feeding and tracheostomy care training if needed.
• Excellent communication with a nonverbal client.

Responsibilities

• Home-based support including daily routines and appointments.
• Support with non-verbal communication, PEG feeding, tracheostomy care and suctioning.
• Assist with social activities and engagement with hobbies and clubs.
• Provide companionship and ensure safety during visits.

Successful Applicant:

• Previous experience working with adults with complex conditions (e.g. brain injury, cerebral palsy, epilepsy)
• Confident with PEG feeding and tracheostomy care (or willing to undertake training)
• Excellent communication skills as our client is nonverbal
