Job summary

Potens is hiring a Support Worker for our Mental Health supported living home based in Penwortham, Preston. The role focuses on helping adults with mental health conditions live more independently and with fewer restrictions.

The package includes £12.71 per hour, 16 hours per week, a contributory pension, and access to development opportunities including NVQ levels 2-5 in Health & Social Care. We encourage proactive, caring individuals to apply.

Qualifications

  • An experienced support worker who is looking to develop their role. There are opportunities for progression into more senior roles.
  • Enthusiastic, with an interest in working within the mental health sector.
  • A skilled verbal and written communicator
  • Empathic, with a flexible approach that respects individual differences.
  • Dedicated, with a willingness to go the extra mile.
  • Flexible across 7 days and available to complete 1 sleep-in shift.
  • Experience is essential.

Responsibilities

  • You will support adults who experience mental ill health to remain well whilst living in the community and engage in a life that is meaningful to them.
  • This could be supporting people to further develop their living skills, such as cooking, maintaining their living space, and managing their finances, so they can continue to live independently.
  • You will support them to remain well through utilising and developing coping skills, help them source enjoyable community activities, and access higher education or employment.
