Job summary

HomeCareDirect is seeking a compassionate Support Worker/PA/HCA to assist a client in Ipswich (IP1). The role focuses on 1:1 daily living support, personal care, and light home duties in a lively, pet-filled home with an assistant dog and other animals.

You’ll help maintain independence and enable enjoyable activities in a caring environment. The position involves assisting with outings, appointments, and hobbies, with paid training and ongoing support from care leads.

Qualifications

  • Full clean UK driving licence (21+ for insurance).
  • Excellent infection control procedures must be in place and followed.
  • Be sociable, friendly and organised.
  • Good with animals; client has an assistance dog, parrot, tortoise and ponies.
  • Committed to providing safe, respectful and consistent support.
  • Previous care experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • 1:1 support for daily living and activities.
  • Personal care and medication administration.
  • Assistance around the home: cooking, cleaning, light admin.
  • Support outings, appointments and social activities.
  • Encourage engagement in hobbies and interests.

We're looking for a compassionate and reliable Support Worker, Personal Assistant (PA) or Health Care Assistant (HCA) to join a friendly household, helping someone continue their passions for horses, arts and crafts, baking, and countryside adventures. If you enjoy enabling independence, sharing new experiences, and making everyday moments meaningful, we'd love to hear from you

You'll be supporting a warm and determined individual who lives with their partner and assistance dog in a lively, pet filled home. They have a real passion for horses and the outdoors, regularly taking part in carriage driving and enjoying time in the countryside.

They also love arts and crafts, baking, and creating gifts, as well as relaxing with films or getting out to the cinema or theatre. With a love for travel and regular trips away in their caravan, they're always looking to make the most of life.

Despite health challenges, they are highly motivated to stay active, independent, and engaged in the things they love - making this a truly rewarding role where you can support someone to live life to the fullest.
