Job description

As a Support Worker in Holyhead, Ynys Môn you’ll do more than provide support — you’ll help the people we support live life to the fullest, discover new opportunities and enjoy the everyday moments that matter.

As a Support Worker, you’ll play a vital role in making this happen — empowering people to build confidence, achieve their goals and live life on their own terms.

Location: Holyhead, Ynys Môn

Hours

We have a 20 hours contract, please speak to us about the hours you are looking to do. Your shift pattern will include weekends and sleep-ins

Salary

£13.59 per hour and our sleep-in shifts at £60 per night and our travel expenses is paid 55p per mile

What you’ll be doing

As a Support Worker, you’ll play a vital role in supporting three ladies to live fulfilling, active and enriched lives, both at home and within their local community. You’ll get to know each person as an individual, understanding what matters to them and supporting them to make their own choices and set their own goals. You’ll also encourage and support participation in a wide range of activities, helping to build confidence, develop new skills and create opportunities to try new experiences. Supporting the ladies to access and enjoy their local community is an important part of the role, whether that’s enjoying activities, meeting friends, exploring new places or simply making the most of everyday opportunities.

No two days will be the same, and it’s the small moments that can make the biggest difference. Whether you’re supporting someone to achieve a personal goal, try something new, enjoy a favourite activity or simply have a great day, you’ll help make every day remarkable. A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential, as you’ll regularly support community-based activities. You’ll also need to be confident driving a wheelchair-accessible vehicle when required.

• have patience and empathy
• can support a person with their intimate personal care with respect and dignity
• have strong communication and teamwork skills
• are able to speak on behalf of others as well as to a range of professional people
• have good written skills and the ability to record events with empathy and meaning
• have afull driving licence - essentialfor transporting individuals to appointments and activities
• have access to your own car and happy to use this for transporting people we support to and from activities as well as obtaining business insurance for your vehicle for which we pay 55p per mile to cover this
