Job summary

Cartrefi Cymru Co-operative in Carmarthenshire invites you to join as a Support Worker. You’ll help people with learning disabilities live fulfilled, independent lives through person-centred support and practical day-to-day tasks.

We offer part-time and full-time roles, training on the job, generous annual leave, a company pension, and a health and wellbeing programme. You’ll travel locally by car, with mileage paid at 55p per mile.

As a Support Worker in Carmarthenshire, you’ll help make the everyday remarkable for the people we support.

We are dedicated to supporting those with learning disabilities to live a fulfilled and enriched life in the community, as a Support Worker, you can play a vital role in this.

Role: Support Worker

Location: Carmarthenshire

Hours: We have both part time and full time hours, please speak to us about the hours you are looking to do. Your shift pattern will include weekends and sleep-ins

Salary: £13.59 per hour and our sleep-in shifts at £60 per night and our travel expenses is paid 55p per mile

Contract: Permanent

What you’ll be doing:

In this role, you’ll actively support individuals in making their own choices and set their own goals — whether it’s everyday decisions like what to wear, eat, or do, or something bigger such as where to live, how to manage their finances, or where to go on holiday.

As a trusted Support Worker, you'll empower people to follow through on these choices, including taking part in structured activities that build confidence and develop new skills. You’ll also offer practical support to help them meet responsibilities like paying bills, maintaining their homes, being good neighbours, and staying connected with friends and family.

Your goal is to make everyday remarkable through enhancing well-being and focusing on the small, meaningful moments that bring joy and purpose. By offering this kind of person-centred support every day, this truly is a fun and rewarding role for the right person.

No experience required as full training is provided. We’d love to hear from you if you:

• have patience and empathy
