Job summary

CYGNET is recruiting a Support Worker at its Colchester site to provide compassionate care for men with learning disabilities, autism, or mental health needs. You’ll assist nursing staff with admissions, assessments, and discharge, while focusing on dignity, safety, and person-centred support.

You will work 43.75 hours per week across day and night shifts. A DBS check is required, and the role offers development opportunities through apprenticeship schemes and regular coaching.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to support service users and work within a team.
• Ability to follow safeguarding guidelines and report needs.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a care setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical and emotional support to service users.
• Assist with admissions, assessments, implementation and discharge of inpatients.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment and report welfare needs as required.
• Support nursing staff in day-to-day care and documentation.
