Job summary

Komplex Community in the United Kingdom is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to assist adults with autism, learning disabilities and mental health needs in supported living settings across Shropshire and Staffordshire. You will help with daily tasks, independence, and communication, providing a calm, reliable presence.

Qualifications

• Must have a Full UK (manual) driving licence.
• Desirable: minimum of one year’s experience in care or support.
• Demonstrates compassion, resilience and emotional intelligence.
• Confident working with individuals with learning disabilities, autism, and challenging behaviours.
• Basic IT skills for communication and record-keeping.
• Flexible to work across services in Shropshire and Staffordshire.
• Team-first attitude with commitment to person-centred care.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with essential daily tasks: cooking, personal care, cleaning, budgeting.
• Encourage independence and participation in meaningful activities and community access.
• Be a calm, reliable presence during difficult times, offering emotional support and structure.
• Promote routines and relationships to help individuals feel safe and included.
• Monitor and record progress, celebrate small wins daily.
• Work regular 12-hour shifts, including waking nights, to provide consistent high-quality care.

Your Role as a Support Worker

You’ll be part of a dedicated, hands‑on team supporting individuals with a range of complex needs such as Autism, Learning disabilities, Mental health conditions, & Challenging behaviour. To help the individual live safely and independently in their own homes. Your work will make a direct and lasting impact.

Responsibilities include:

• Supporting individuals with essential daily tasks such as cooking, personal care, cleaning, and budgeting

• Being a calm, reliable presence during difficult times, offering emotional reassurance and structure
• Promoting routines and relationships that help people feel safe, respected, and included
• Monitoring and recording progress, recognising and celebrating small wins every day
• Working regular 12-hour shifts — including waking nights — to provide consistent and high-quality care

What We’re Looking For

• A Full UK (manual) driving licence
• A minimum of one year’s experience working in care or support (desirable)
• Compassion, resilience, and emotional intelligence
• Confidence working with individuals with learning disabilities, autism, and behaviours that challenge
• Basic IT skills for communication and record-keeping
• Flexibility to work across services in Shropshire and Staffordshire
• A team-first attitude and commitment to delivering person-centred care

Additional Information
