The Role

Role: Support Worker

Location: Darlington

Hours: Waking Nights / 1900 - 0700

Payrate: £14.00 per hour

You’ll care for an adult in Darlington, working to provide safe and consistent care in their own home. They live with Autism, Epilepsy, Learning Disabilities, Challenging Behaviour, OCD, Cerebral Palsy & Mental Health; they require support with medication administration and personal care support. We are looking for carers who have a good standard of literacy skills, are able to understand written information, and keep clear records. Eager to learn necessary skills, able to follow directions/routines, with good communication skills, clear spoken English, and a willingness to learn alternative communication methods to engage with both non-verbal and deaf clients. Willing to work as a team with both colleagues and family, and to become part of a busy household. Carers need to be confident, outgoing, enthusiastic, engaging, proactive, and responsible. With nurse-led oversight, individualised clinical training and the wider Komplex Group behind you, you’ll provide the standard of care you’d want for your own family.

Benefits
  • Fully paid, face‑to‑face training and ongoing career development
  • 24/7 GP access for you and your immediate family
  • Free mental health support and wellbeing activities
  • Life insurance and confidential advice for everyday challenges
  • Retail discounts for brands including Amazon, Tesco and Nike
  • Up to 33% off selected gym membership
  • Employee of the Month recognition, including a £50 voucher
  • Structured rotas to support a healthy work‑life balance
Your Role as a Care Assistant

You’ll join a dedicated, nurse-led team providing hands‑on care for individuals with lifelong and potentially life‑critical clinical needs. This is NOT standard domiciliary care. You’ll follow detailed clinical care plans, monitor changes in the individual’s condition and perform the specialist interventions needed to keep them safe, stable and comfortable at home.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Providing personal care, medication and clinical interventions
  • Managing tracheostomies, ventilation and specialist equipment
  • Monitoring clinical observations and recognising deterioration
  • Maintaining accurate records and escalating concerns immediately
What We’re Looking For

This is more than a job. You’ll be trusted with someone’s safety and wellbeing while delivering care that requires skill, focus and sound judgement. It takes a certain kind of person: someone compassionate, dependable and highly attentive who can remain calm and act correctly under pressure. We also require the following:

  • A full UK driving licence
  • Experience in care or confidence undertaking clinical training
  • Excellent attention to detail and situational awareness
  • The ability to follow detailed clinical protocols consistently
  • Basic IT skills for communication and record-keeping
  • A genuine commitment to safe, person‑centred care

Komplex Care provides nurse-led care at home for adults and children with lifelong, complex clinical needs. Our teams support individuals requiring interventions such as ventilation, tracheostomy care, suctioning, gastrostomy support and neurological care. Every package includes individualised training, consistent care teams and ongoing nurse-led clinical oversight. Make every working day mean something. Join Komplex Care and deliver specialist, nurse-led complex care that enables people with lifelong clinical needs to live safely and comfortably at home.

Note: We are unable to offer sponsorship. Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK.
