Job summary

Komplex Community is seeking a Bank Support Worker in the West Midlands to help adults with autism, learning disabilities and mental health needs live safely and independently in their own homes.

You will assist with daily tasks, promote routines, and provide emotional support, while working 12-hour shifts including waking nights. Applicants should have a year’s care experience, a full UK driving licence, and willingness to work across Shropshire and Staffordshire.

Qualifications

• Full UK manual driving licence.
• Minimum of one year’s experience in care or support.
• Compassion, resilience, and emotional intelligence.
• Experience with learning disabilities, autism and challenging behaviour is valued.
• Basic IT skills for communication and record keeping.
• Willingness to work across Shropshire and Staffordshire.
• Team-first attitude and commitment to person-centred care.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals with daily tasks such as cooking, personal care, cleaning and budgeting.
• Encourage independence and build confidence through activities and community access.
• Provide calm, reliable presence during difficult times, offering emotional reassurance and structure.
• Promote routines and relationships that help people feel safe, respected and included.
• Monitor and record progress, recognising and celebrating small wins every day.
• Work regular 12‑hour shifts, including waking nights, to provide consistent high‑quality care.

Pay: £20.00 per hour (flat rate)

Hours: 12‑hour shifts, including nights

Role Overview

As a Support Worker you will help people develop life skills, confidence and emotional resilience, supporting individuals with complex needs to live safely and independently in their own homes.
