Job summary

Inspire, Cannock-based, is seeking a Children’s Residential Support Worker for day shifts. You will support children and young people with learning disabilities and complex needs, help with daily routines, and plan engaging activities in a warm home environment.

Based in Cannock, the role requires a full UK driving licence and offers shifts with some early starts and weekends. Training is provided, with opportunities to progress in a caring, supportive team.

Children's Residential Support Worker Days

Location: Cannock, Staffordshire

£13.86 to £14.61 per hour dep on Level 3/4 Children's Residential / Workforce

A full UK driving licence is required and we are unable to offer sponsorship for this vacancy

Shifts will require days with some early starts, later evenings and alternate weekends. These will be planned in advance ensuring a flexible work/life balance.

What You’ll Do

As a Support Worker you will support our young people with their daily routines. This may include helping to get them ready for school, prepping for meal times, planning activities tailored to each individual child's needs, personal care and generally having fun right through to bed time.

How is this done?

• Create a warm, homely environment by helping with light housekeeping
• Build strong, meaningful relationships and provide emotional support
• Plan and join fun activities like trips to the park, movie nights or getting involved with hobbies and creative projects
• Keep essential records and maintain care plans
• Be an active listener ensuring each child is treated as an individual - we don't do a one size fits all approach

New staff must be comfortable using an electronic care recording system on a daily basis to document, monitor, and update children and young people’s records accurately. Experience with Clearcare is an advantage, but not essential, as full training will be provided. However, all staff are expected to confidently use digital systems as part of their day-to-day role.
