Job summary

Cambian is seeking a Children’s Residential Care Worker to support young people aged 8–18 in Whitchurch, Shropshire. You’ll help with daily routines, school readiness, meals, activities and emotional support, in a warm, home-like setting.

Full training will be provided; you’ll use electronic care recording systems daily, with full DBS checks and safeguarding in place to shape safer futures for each child.

Qualifications

• Warm, patient, a great listener and encourager - focused on achieving outcomes for others.
• No prior experience? No problem! If you have the passion, we’ll provide the training.

Responsibilities

• Support young people with daily routines, getting them ready for school and meal times.
• Plan activities and join trips, promoting learning and development.
• Create a warm, homely environment with light housekeeping.
• Build meaningful relationships and provide emotional support.
• Keep essential records using an electronic care recording system (Clearcare is an advantage).
• Complete training and DBS clearance as part of safeguarding requirements.

Salary: £27,435.30 - £28,724.80 + £3,000 sleep-in bonus (annual average)

What You’ll Do

As a Children’s support worker you will support young people with their daily routines; Getting them ready for school, prepping for meal times and planning activities.

Create a warm, homely environment by helping with light housekeeping.

Build strong, meaningful relationships and provide emotional support.

Plan and join fun activities like trips to the park, popcorn & movie nights or creative projects.

Keep essential records to ensure the best possible care.

New staff must be comfortable using an electronic care recording system on a daily basis to document, monitor, and update children and young people’s records accurately. Experience with Clearcare is an advantage, but not essential, as full training will be provided. However, all staff are expected to confidently use digital systems as part of their day-to-day role.
