Job summary

Axcis Education Recruitment is working with a specialist college in Enfield, North London to recruit a dedicated 1:1 Support Worker for a learner with SEND. You will support post-16 learners across academic and vocational programmes in a unique learning environment.

You will provide dedicated 1:1 support for a learner with ASC, ADHD, and SEMH needs, assisting in classroom and practical outdoor sessions and helping the learner stay engaged, confident and independent.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4/C or above).
• Strong IT and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and use your initiative.
• Comfortable supporting learners in practical and outdoor environments.
• Calm, patient and nurturing approach.
• Previous experience supporting young people with SEND or in a college/education setting desirable.

We are working in partnership with a highly respected specialist college in Enfield, North London, seeking a dedicated and proactive Support Staff to join the team immediately. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to support post-16 learners across both academic and vocational programmes in a unique learning environment. Students participate in Entry Level Maths and English alongside practical, hands‑on subjects including Floristry, Garden Design, Animal Care, and Agriculture.

Position

You will provide dedicated 1:1 support for a learner with SEND needs, including:

• Autism (ASC)
• ADHD
• Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting learning within the classroom
• Assisting during practical vocational sessions
• Encouraging confidence, engagement, and independence
• Supporting outdoor learning activities throughout the year

As part of this role, you'll spend time in outdoor settings, so you should be comfortable working outside in all weather conditions.

Salary / Pay Rate will be dependent on your skills and experience.
