Axcis Education is currently working closely with a new specialist alternative provision situated near Thornbury and Berkeley, who are looking for a School Support Worker to start asap, joining an already fantastic team. This innovative, welcoming and already very sought after provision provides an excellent, holistic and engaging learning environment designed specifically to meet the needs of all its learners.
This is a very small school with a strong sense of teamwork, comprising of 2 classes, each containing approx. 7 children in both. One class attends school on a Tuesday and Wednesday, the other attends school on a Thursday and Friday. (The school is closed on a Monday currently). It is of utmost importance that collaboration with colleagues and strong communication is held as a priority to ensure that the learners develop in all areas of life. The children attending this school have very individual and profound needs within their SEND diagnoses and can display challenging behaviour in certain situations.
As a result, the school are looking for candidates who are experienced with SEND, are resilient and have a good sense of humour, are adaptable, have a can do attitude, enjoy the outdoors (they have a large garden including a polytunnel where the grow vegetables and do a lot of physical activity) and are good team players.
Due to the very rural location of the school, you will need access to your own vehicle and there is a large staff car park on site.
