Job summary

Jobtrain is seeking a part-time care and support worker in Bellshill to assist a gentleman with complex needs. You will provide person-centred support, help with daily activities, outings, and household tasks, and follow care plans with a calm and resilient approach.

Applicants should be comfortable in challenging situations, have relevant Health & Social Care experience (or transferable skills), and hold a full UK manual driving licence. Training and development opportunities are offered.

You'll become part of our friendly, welcoming team supporting a gentleman with complex needs who enjoys a trip to the bookies or going to the racing. He also enjoys attending the pub, playing pool and is a massive football fan! Due to being a smoker, you will need to be comfortable supporting him in this environment.

The person we support likes to spend weekends away so you may at some point be expected to take him on holiday.

Due to the needs of this service and the gentleman having its own mobility car, we will need you to have a full UK manual drivers licence.

Who we're looking for

We're looking for someone who is calm under pressure, dependable and committed to providing high-quality, person-centred support. Most importantly, you'll need to be comfortable and confident supporting someone when their behaviour can be challenging. Remaining calm, patient and consistent.

Due to the needs of the individual we support, we're ideally looking for someone who has experience of providing care and support within the Health & Social Care sector, however, if you don't have direct care experience but can demonstrate transferable skills, resilience, and a positive attitude, we'd still love to hear from you.

Shift Patterns

We provide tailored support over a 3 week rolling rota. Shifts typically run between 10am-10pm however hours may differ to support individuals needs.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy.

If you’re successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.

Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre-employment checks.
