Job summary

Job description

Grade 4 - £30,630 - £32,931 pa

The Resident Services Team is responsible for assisting tenants in sustaining their tenancies and promoting their independence, quality of life, safeguarding, and health and well-being. This includes issues such as housing, welfare rights, personal finance, hoarding, tenancy management, mediation, life skills, and the promotion of personal independence.

We develop a holistic picture of each resident to serve as the principal contact for other council departments, actively resolving issues such as gas access, hoarding, tenancy fraud, and safeguarding.

Ideally, candidates will have experience in housing or tenancy management or similar public sector roles. Experience in developing relationships with local stakeholders and partners, providing tenancy, housing, and leasehold advice, and knowledge of best practices and compliance are desirable.

The role involves providing effective, responsive administrative support for operational activities in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner.

Regular responsibilities include:

  1. Face-to-face and telephone contact with the public
  2. Facilitating meetings as required
  3. Monitoring team plans
  4. Supporting the Senior Housing Officer and Resident Services Manager in monitoring compliance with team targets and standards
  5. Updating records, costs, and details in databases
  6. Liaising with officers, contractors, and suppliers
  7. Demonstrating successful multi-agency working, outcome focus, clear thinking, and excellent communication skills
  8. Effective negotiation and problem-solving abilities
  9. Excellent IT skills, especially in Microsoft Excel
  10. Working 36 hours per week or as required by the Line Manager
  11. Must have a full UK driving license and access to a vehicle for work
