About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for a professional experienced in working with children and young people who are at risk of or have been permanently excluded from school.
The Exclusions and Reintegration Support Officer will play a crucial role in supporting the Lead Exclusions and Reintegration Officer. This involves collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance educational outcomes and ensure the successful reintegration of excluded pupils.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Lead Exclusions and Reintegration Officer in their work with schools, multi-agency teams, and other partners.
- Improve educational outcomes for children and young people at risk of exclusion.
- Facilitate the reintegration of excluded pupils back into school or alternative provision.
- Create bespoke support packages for children and young people at risk of exclusion.
- Manage a busy schedule, ensuring all tasks are completed within deadlines.
Skills and Competencies:
- Experience working with children and young people at risk of or permanently excluded from school, preferably in a mainstream school or local authority setting.
- Passionate about enabling all children and young people to meet their academic potential.
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage a busy schedule.
- Proactive in creating tailored support packages.
- Strong interpersonal skills, approachable and friendly.
- Ability to think on your feet and adapt to changing situations.
- Supportive of staff and the team around the child.
