Hackney is one of the most dynamic and progressive local authorities in the UK. We are a resilient, vibrant, and creative borough in the heart of London, with strong, diverse communities and a powerful set of shared values.

Over the past twenty years, the Council has built up first-class services, outstanding public infrastructure, and a reputation for excellence, innovation, and ambition. We are leading the way on essential work such as our fight for equity in Hackney with a particular focus on becoming an actively anti-racist borough. But the work doesn’t stop there, we are proactive in our approach to bringing fairness to all aspects of life including gender, neurodiversity and across the poverty divide.

Right now, transformation has never been more important. The challenges facing the Adult Social Care sector are significant. We believe that with the right staff, leadership and vision, we can meet these challenges and work with residents and partners to come up with creative solutions – always keeping residents at the centre of their care.

The Transformation Service is made up of a number of teams; Transformation, Performance & Insight, Business Support, Practice Innovation and Workforce Capability, and Homes for Ukraine Support. As a service, we are committed to ensuring residents achieve the best outcomes, whether that be through transforming how services are delivered, using data and insight to better understand needs, investing in and thinking creatively about how to develop and support the workforce, ensuring the business is supported to deliver processes as efficiently as possible, as well as through continuous service and practice improvement. It’s a dynamic, highly skilled and supportive service.

We are looking for an exceptional Senior Business Support Officer to provide high quality business support to the department.

This role is responsible for;

– Developing, producing, embedding and maintaining various plans and reports for Adult Social Care such as the Business Continuity Plan, Local account and more by ensuring they are reviewed periodically through the year and when changes in business demand or events necessitate them.

– Review the departments internet and intranet pages, and coordinate timely updates of the content.

– Support the FOI & Complaints Manager to process and coordinate the management of Subject Access Requests, Freedom Of Information requests, Complaints, Members and Mayoral Enquiries by ensuring they are correctly logged onto local and corporate databases, risk assessed and prioritised, allocated to services, processed effectively and efficiently in line with the agreed corporate and Directorate response standards and business targets and monitored until concluded.

– Line management of the Business Support Officer and Service Coordinator, including carrying out formal check in supervisions in line with corporate guidance.

– Lead and coordinate all data and information governance work for the Adult Services Directorate, including developing, maintaining and promoting the policies, standards, working practices and guidance for the Directorate relating to information governance.
