Job summary

Protocol Education are recruiting Learning Support Assistants to join welcoming secondary schools in Brent on a full-time basis. You will support students in lessons, in 1-to-1, small-group and whole-class settings, helping them stay engaged and reach their potential.

Ideal candidates will have experience with young people in schools, SEND settings, or related environments, and be patient, proactive communicators who work well in a team.

We're working with welcoming and inclusive Secondary Schools across Brent who are looking for enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants to join their teams on a full-time basis, 5 days a week.

We're ideally looking for candidates with previous experience supporting young people, whether that's within a school, SEND setting, youth work, coaching, care or a similar environment.

You'll work closely with teachers, SEND teams and pastoral staff, supporting students both academically and personally throughout the school day.

What you'll be doing:

• Supporting students in lessons through 1-to-1, small-group and whole-class support
• Providing additional support to students with SEND and additional learning needs
• Helping students stay focused, engaged and confident in their learning
• Encouraging positive behaviour, resilience and independence
• Supporting students with their academic, social and emotional development
• Working closely with teachers and school staff to create an inclusive learning environment
• Building positive relationships with students and helping them reach their potential

What we're looking for:

• Previous experience working with young people is highly desirable
• Experience in schools, SEND, youth work, coaching, care or similar settings is advantageous
• A genuine passion for supporting young people and their education
• Patient, approachable and able to build strong relationships with students
• A confident communicator who enjoys working as part of a team
• Adaptable, proactive and willing to support wherever needed
• Available to work full‑time, 5 days a week

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
