Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to support children aged 3-18 at a specialist school in Loughborough. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, adapt learning approaches, and work closely with teachers to help pupils access learning, including pupils with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and learning difficulties.

The school offers part-time and full-time opportunities on long-term and day-to-day supply basis, with CPD courses and a dedicated consultant team

Salary: £92.63 - £100 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEND school based in Loughborough, supporting children aged 3-18 with special educational needs and disabilities. The school provides a supportive and inclusive learning environment for children with a range of additional needs, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and moderate or severe learning difficulties (MLD/SLD), with a focus on helping every child develop their confidence, independence and learning.

The school is looking to take on an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant, with both part-time and full-time opportunities available on a long-term and day-to-day supply basis. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will work closely with teaching staff to provide tailored 1:1 and small group support, assist with classroom activities and adapt learning approaches to meet the individual needs of pupils with ASD, MLD and SLD.

Key Responsibilities

• Relevant qualifications in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent are desirable
• Experience working with children with SEND, particularly autism spectrum disorder (ASD), moderate learning difficulties (MLD) or severe learning difficulties (SLD)
• Experience providing 1:1 support and working with small groups of children with additional needs
• A proactive and enthusiastic approach to supporting children's learning and development
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Patience, resilience and adaptability when supporting children with a range of learning needs
