Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant for a specialist SEND school in Loughborough. The role offers 1:1 and small group support for pupils aged 3-18 with ASD, MLD/SLD, with both part-time and full-time opportunities on long-term and day-to-day supply.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualifications in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent are desirable.
• Experience working with children with SEND, particularly ASD, MLD or SLD.
• Experience providing 1:1 support and working with small groups of children with additional needs.
• Proactive and enthusiastic approach to supporting children's learning and development.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Patience, resilience and adaptability when supporting children with a range of learning needs.

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEND school based in Loughborough, supporting children aged 3-18 with special educational needs and disabilities. The school provides a supportive and inclusive learning environment for children with a range of additional needs, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and moderate or severe learning difficulties (MLD/SLD), with a focus on helping every child develop their confidence, independence and learning.

The school is looking to take on an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant, with both part-time and full-time opportunities available on a long-term and day-to-day supply basis. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will work closely with teaching staff to provide tailored 1:1 and small group support, assist with classroom activities and adapt learning approaches to meet the individual needs of pupils with ASD, MLD and SLD.

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:

• Relevant qualifications in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent are desirable
• Experience working with children with SEND, particularly autism spectrum disorder (ASD), moderate learning difficulties (MLD) or severe learning difficulties (SLD)
• Experience providing 1:1 support and working with small groups of children with additional needs
