Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join a Newark-on-Trent school. The role is available part-time and full-time, on a long-term basis or as day-to-day supply, with an immediate start.

The successful candidate will provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support, assist with classroom activities and adapt learning approaches for pupils with ASD, MLD and SLD. This on-site position offers market-leading pay and flexible possibilities.

SEND Teaching Assistant

Location: Newark - on - Trent

Start Date: Immediate Start

Salary: £92.63 - £100 per day

Contract: Temporary, Part-time

Working Pattern: On-site

The school is looking to take on an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant, with both part-time and full-time opportunities available on a long-term and day-to-day supply basis. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will work closely with teaching staff to provide tailored 1:1 and small group support, assist with classroom activities and adapt learning approaches to meet the individual needs of pupils with ASD, MLD and SLD.

Requirements

• Relevant qualifications in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent are desirable
• Experience working with children with SEND, particularly autism spectrum disorder (ASD), moderate learning difficulties (MLD) or severe learning difficulties (SLD)
• Experience providing 1:1 support and working with small groups of children with additional needs
• A proactive and enthusiastic approach to supporting children's learning and development
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Patience, resilience and adaptability when supporting children with a range of learning needs
