Job summary

Aspire People is seeking an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to provide supply cover at a school on the Meldreth/Hertfordshire border. You will support pupils with a range of needs under the guidance of the class teacher, contributing to their academic, social and emotional development.

The role requires an enhanced DBS and a commitment to safeguarding. You will assist with personalised activities, monitor progress, and collaborate with parents and external professionals to ensure pupils

Qualifications

  • Enhanced DBS on update service is required.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN is essential.
  • Ability to support pupils with ASD, ADHD, and speech/language needs.
  • Good teamwork and safeguarding awareness are expected.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with a range of needs under the teacher's guidance.
  • Deliver engaging, personalised learning activities.
  • Encourage confidence, independence and social skills.
  • Support behaviour management in line with policies.
  • Provide support during lessons, breaks and activities.
  • Prepare classroom resources and learning materials.
  • Monitor and record pupils' progress and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents and external professionals.

SEN Teaching Assistant - Supply

Location: Meldreth, Hertfordshire/Cambridgeshire Border

Salary: £100-£115 per day (depending on experience)

Hours: 8:30am-4:30pm, Monday to Friday

Contract: Supply Cover - Could lead to permanent employment

Start Date: ASAP

Looking for candidates with Enhanced Child and Adult DBS already on the update service.

The Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting pupils' academic, social and emotional development. Working closely with teachers and other professionals, you'll help create positive learning experiences that enable every pupil to thrive.

  • Supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and other learning needs.
  • Assisting the class teacher in delivering engaging, personalised learning activities.
  • Encouraging pupils to develop confidence, independence and positive social skills.
  • Supporting behaviour management in line with school policies and individual care plans.
  • Providing support during lessons, breaktimes and educational activities.
  • Preparing classroom resources and learning materials.
  • Monitoring and recording pupils' progress and achievements.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, parents/carers and external professionals to provide the best possible support for each pupil.
