Job summary

Aspire People Limited is seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant on a supply basis in Meldreth, near Hertfordshire/Cambridgeshire border. The role runs 8:30am-4:30pm, Monday to Friday, with a daily rate of £100-£115 depending on experience.

Contract may lead to permanent employment; start date ASAP. You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to support pupils’ academic, social and emotional development, including pupils with ASD/ADHD, and participate in safeguarding and DBS checks as

• Experience supporting pupils with diverse needs, including ASD and ADHD.
• Enhanced DBS on update service.
• Ability to work with teachers and support staff.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with additional needs including ASD, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties.
• Assist the class teacher with engaging, personalised learning activities.
• Encourage pupils to develop confidence, independence and positive social skills.
• Support behaviour management in line with school policies.
• Provide support during lessons, break times and educational activities.
• Prepare classroom resources and learning materials.
• Monitor and record pupils' progress and achievements.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents/carers and external professionals.

SEN Teaching Assistant - Supply
Location: Meldreth, Hertfordshire/Cambridgeshire Border

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting pupils' academic, social and emotional development. Working closely with teachers and other professionals, you'll help create positive learning experiences that enable every pupil to thrive.

Your responsibilities will include

1. Supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and other learning needs.
2. Assisting the class teacher in delivering engaging, personalised learning activities.
3. Encouraging pupils to develop confidence, independence and positive social skills.
4. Supporting behaviour management in line with school policies and individual care plans.
5. Providing support during lessons, breaktimes and educational activities.
6. Preparing classroom resources and learning materials.
7. Monitoring and recording pupils' progress and achievements.
8. Working collaboratively with teachers, parents/carers and external professionals to provide the best possible support for each pupil.
